[Axiom Card System]

[Event Horizon]
Effect
A black ring is placed on top of a face-up Joker card. Slowly, a finger appears to melt through the card, creating a stunning illusion.
Setup
1. Hold the Event Horizon card face-up in your left hand, gripping the bottom corner. Ensure you can read the word "Joker" to confirm the card is oriented correctly.
2. Place a black finger ring on top of the card, near the center.
Performance
1. Slowly move the ring around the card with a very light amount of pressure, making it seem like the finger could pass through at any position.
2. Stop the ring over the secret area in the lower middle of the card.
3. Begin to melt your finger through the inside of ring, continuing through the card very slowly. The ring hides the trapdoor's opening, allowing for slow movement that would normally require speed to avoid detection of the hole.
4. Continue to melt your finger through the card until it appears to have melted through from below the card.
6. To exit, secretly use gentle pressure with the ring finger or middle finger to assist the secret area locking flush and flat.
Display
- When displaying the backside of the card, always turn the face up card end for end, so painted line is always facing towards the audience when displaying the backside.
- Be mindful of the lighting and reflections in your environment to maintain the illusion.
[Joker on Fire]
Effect
An ordinary (BIC) lighter appears to melt through a face-up Joker card, creating a stunning visual effect.
Setup & Marking
- The Joker on Fire card has an oval-shaped feature camouflaged within the Joker's design, making it nearly invisible even with casual up-close
- Hold the Joker card face-up in your left hand, gripping the bottom corner. Ensure you can read the word "Joker" to confirm the correct orientation.
- Note the marking system: specific parts of the Joker logo have been adjusted for orientation to distinguish between this card and the Identical looking Event Horizon Card. Take a moment to notice the differences yourself.
Performance
1. Slowly move the BIC lighter around the card, making it seem like the finger could pass through at any position. At the last moment position just behind the secret area. (the side closest to the magician's body)
- Tilt the top of the lighter forward, leaving the bottom in place.
- Gently drag the edge of the lighter towards the secret area, covering any open space.
- Once aligned over the secret area, correct the lighter to stand it straight up with the silver portion pointing toward the sky.
- Begin to insert the lighter very slowly and gently, making it appear as if it is melting through the card. The slower movement will translate to magic at this point.
- 6. To exit, secretly use gentle pressure with the ring finger or middle finger to assist the secret area locking flush and flat.
Display
- When displaying the backside of the card, always turn the face up card end for end, so painted line is always facing towards the audience when displaying the backside.
- Be mindful of the lighting and reflections in your environment to maintain the illusion.
[Ace in the Hole]
Effect
A soft object like a hoodie string or necklace appears to melt through an Ace of Clubs without any cover, creating an eerie and captivating illusion.
Setup
- The Ace in the Hole card features an open optical illusion design.
- Ensure the edge with the round side of the center pip is always faced towards the audience during this illusion.
Performance
1. Hold the Ace of Clubs between your right thumb and first and second fingers, about half an inch to the right of the club pip.
2. Show the front and back of the card openly as you do do a secondary misdirection action. Manually give the card a 45-degree angle downward and bend the front of card upwards slowly and gently until it allows space for an object to pass through.
3. Slowly lower a soft object, like a hoodie string or necklace, into the center of the card.
4. The object will appear to melt through the card with no friction or sound, creating the illusion that it passes through the solid card.
5. After the object has passed through and removed, slowly rotate the card end for end to immediately display the back side of the card. As you do this the card will lock. Sometimes you may need to aid the this action. Be subtle if this is needed.
6. Ensure everything is flush and flat on both the front and back the card as you display.

[General Tips for Illusion Cards]
Move the objects very slowly into and exiting the Illusion Card to enhance the illusion and maintain control of the experience for your audience.
Be gentle, with continuous motion when practicing the timing so the motion becomes smooth and natural.
Be mindful of the sightline below the card. Tilt the front of the card slightly towards the floor to maintain the illusion. Practice in front of a mirror to understand the angles ahead of a performance, adjusting for sitting and standing audiences.
Avoid forceful friction on the inner edge of the secret area, this prevents a ghostly edge line from forming and ensures the ink doesn't wear down, maintaining the illusion’s deceptive nature for the longest period of time possible.
[Base Card]
Effect
The base card enhances the illusion by allowing any of the illusion cards to nest on top, creating a seamless and more deceptive effect.
Setup & Marking
1. The base card has a slightly secret area compared to the illusion cards.
2. The illusion cards in the set include the Event Horizon card, the Joker on Fire card, and the Ace in the Hole card. Each illusion card has a specific angle & orientation that aligns with the base card.
3. Two of the prominent white marks on the backside of the card design is colored in. They are only marked in one corner of the card. These markings should always face towards the audience to ensure correct orientation.
Performance
1. Place an illusion card on top of the base card. Align the cards so that they lock into place.
2. Ensure both cards have been locked into ready position.
3. When performing the effect with an Illusion Card, both cards will simultaneously, allow for the corresponding objects to pass through multiple cards creating a more deceptive effect.
4. To exit, secretly use gentle pressure with the ring finger or middle finger to assist the secret area locking flush and flat.
Integration
1. All illusion cards integrate seamlessly with the base card. This means you can use any Base Card with any of your illusion cards you choose without needing extra matching props or fumbling to match up sets.
2. This innovative design allows for interchangeability, enhancing the feeling of magic for you and your audience.
[ Aligning Illusion Cards & Base Cards]
The ready position is when the locking system between an illusion card and the base card aligns perfectly. At this point, both cards are securely locked together and ready for performance.
- Each illusion card has specific markings that indicate the correct orientation for alignment.
- The base card also has markings: two sections of the flower petals in the Bicycle card design are colored in. These markings should always face towards the audience.
- Gently, but casually set the illusion card on top of the base card, ensuring the markings on both cards align. The illusion card should be placed so that its trapdoor aligns with the base card's trapdoor, you will feel this happen with the tactile feedback.
- Use your thumbs with the most gentle pressure possible to pivot the illusion card slightly until you feel it lock into place. To learn the orientation of your props for open both secret areas of a Base Card and any Illusion Card.
- Gently set the illusion Card on top of the base card. You will feel it lock into ready position. Now apply gentle pressure from below with your ring or middle finger of the hand holding the cards and remember the general angle and placement to feel the cards lock into the ready position with ease.
- When separating an Illusion Card from a Base card after a demonstration, gently and slowly slide the top card (the illusion card) back towards your body. Never push the illusion card forward when separating the cards. Be aware not to force anything but do not fear breaking your props. They are expertly designed.
